Kieran Jarvis is a composer and artist living and working on unceded xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam),
Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish) and səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) territory in Vancouver, B.C
As a composer Kieran is focused on supporting narrative work. His focus is on tonal world-building. Working with musicians and borrowing their experience to support the emotional landscape, the score develops power to humanize and relate complex narratives and characters.
Artistically, Kieran is fascinated by the sensory complexities offered by the interaction of waves (sound/light/mechanical) with each other and with reflectors.
His upcoming work 'Oscillating Electroacoustic System' builds on the previous century's efforts at relating the world of sound to a reproducable, repeatable environment. By mobilizing
physical sound makers in physical space, infinitely interesting and pleasing effects are achieved.
